Overview

Our VTCT Level 4 Laser & IPL Course provides advanced theoretical knowledge and practical training in laser hair reduction and IPL skin rejuvenation.

Training is delivered in a focused learning environment with small class sizes, allowing learners to receive individual guidance, practical support and ongoing feedback from experienced tutors.

Throughout the course, you will develop an understanding of laser and IPL technology, skin and hair analysis, treatment planning, contraindications, client consultation, treatment safety and professional working practices.

You will also gain hands-on experience using professional laser and IPL equipment while learning how to safely select appropriate treatment parameters according to the client's individual skin type, hair characteristics and treatment objectives.

Laser & IPL Hair Reduction

During the hair reduction unit, you will learn how to:

1. Carry out professional client consultations
2. Analyse skin type and hair characteristics
3. Understand the hair growth cycle
4. Identify indications and contraindications
5. Carry out appropriate patch testing
6. Assess potential treatment risks
7. Select appropriate treatment parameters
8. Create an individual treatment programme
9. Perform laser and IPL hair reduction treatments
10. Provide professional pre and post-treatment advice
11. Monitor treatment progress and client response

IPL Skin Rejuvenation

You will also develop the knowledge and practical skills required to perform IPL skin rejuvenation treatments.

Training will include assessment and treatment planning for suitable concerns such as:

• Pigmentation
• Sun damage
• Age spots
• Freckles
• Uneven skin tone
• Selected vascular concerns
• General skin rejuvenation
• Signs of photo-ageing

You will learn how to assess whether a client is suitable for treatment and when treatment should not be carried out or when referral may be required.

How Will I Be Assessed?

Assessment is completed throughout the course and is designed to demonstrate your practical ability, theoretical understanding and professional competence.

Your assessment may include:

Your completed portfolio will demonstrate the knowledge, understanding and practical skills developed throughout your qualification.

You will receive tutor support throughout the assessment and portfolio process.

The course is delivered over approximately 7 weeks, attending the academy 1 day per week.

Remaining Balance: £2,000

The deposit secures your place and contributes towards the registration process.

The remaining balance must be paid prior to commencing the course unless an agreed payment plan has been arranged in advance.
